# Pricing

goodrecmovies is free to use. There is one optional consumer plan, **Pro**,
for where-to-watch and personal features on a signed-in account. The public
catalog, every detail page, the public API and the MCP server stay free —
no key, no paid lane. No data is for sale.

## Pro — consumer plan (optional)

Where-to-watch plus personal features for a signed-in account. Pro never
gates the catalog, detail pages, the API or MCP.

Cancel anytime; Pro keeps working until the paid period ends. Checkout is
handled by our merchant of record (Dodo Payments).

## Limits

- Fair-use rate limits per IP (e.g. 30 searches/min) — see /auth.md and the
  RateLimit-Policy response header. No paid fast lane exists.
- The API is read-only and free; nothing on the API or MCP bills.

## AI agents & crawlers

goodrecmovies welcomes search engines, AI grounding agents, and fair-use indexing:

- **Free Tier ($0 forever):** Search indexing (Googlebot, Bingbot), AI citation & grounding (Perplexity, Claude, ChatGPT Search, Applebot), llms.txt, markdown twins (Accept: text/markdown), and standard rate-limited API reads. No key, no fee.
- **Commercial & Bulk Ingestion:** Automated catalog mirroring beyond fair-use rate limits or high-frequency batch extracts are metered via Dodo Payments ($0.001 / request) with an HTTP 402 Payment Required challenge.
- **Protocol:** HTTP 402 with PAYMENT-REQUIRED headers and pre-funded Dodo credit packs.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is there a paid tier?** Yes, an optional consumer Pro plan for personal
features (where-to-watch, My services, full Taste DNA, CSV export). The catalog,
detail pages, API and MCP stay free.
**Does the API or MCP server cost anything?** No. No key, no paid lane.
**Do you offer an enterprise plan?** No.
**Is the API rate limit lift-able for a fee?** No; the per-IP fair-use limit
is the same for everyone.
**Ads or tracking?** No ads and no third-party tracking cookies. We count
upgrade-funnel steps first-party, and measure product usage with PostHog
analytics relayed through our own domain: a first-party cookie/localStorage
visitor id, approximate (city) location from your IP, pseudonymous ids only,
off under Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control (see /privacy).
**Do you sell the data?** No.

goodrecmovies data, it did not come from us.
